Hi my name is Rebecca Jones, author of ‘Enterprise Within’ a book written to encourage staff to share their ideas and encourage employers to have a more enterprising workplace.

Welcome to this course “How to get your ideas heard in the workplace.”

If you work for or have previously worked for an organisation that doesn’t provide staff with the opportunity to develop new ideas, then you know how frustrating that can be. Not feeling that your ideas are valued or implemented by the organisation can leave you disengaged disconnected and let's be honest looking for your next employment opportunity.

But could you have changed the situation. Maybe you need to consider how to ensure your ideas are heard and valued. Rather than sitting there waiting for others to ask your opinion.

Most of us would like to feel valued and involved in the development of the organisation we work for. But to do this you need to start sharing your ideas and become heard by your leaders and managers. On this course I want to show you how you can take responsibility for your workplace success.

This course will focus on you. How you the staff member can develop your ideas, overcome any fear you have of failure and discover how best to promote your ideas to others.

In my work with organisations who want to be more successful I have learnt the importance of staff members bringing their skills and ideas to the table. By helping those organisations myself I’ve learnt some skills which I now want to share with you. These skills can support you in being more successful by adding additional value as an employee. I want to provide you with some strategies that will enable you to approach your manager with ideas that you believe could make a difference.

This course will look at:

Why you should share your ideas at work
Why employees often don’t bring ideas to the table
How your mind-set can hold you back
How you can develop ideas
How to share your ideas and ensure they are heard

I am here to guide you through some basic principles so by the end of the course you could develop an idea that’s beneficial to the organisation you work for.

So much practical information in such a short length of time. All the insights and strategies were explained clearly and succinctly. The course does exactly what it says it does. I now not only have clarity how to communicate an idea but also feel much happier in putting an idea across and knowing I'll be heard.

This short course really helped me understand how to put ideas across to others, and think about the agenda of what an organisation wants and needs - which is key to getting an idea heard in the first place. I certainly feel more confident in preparing my thoughts and talking about my ideas now.
