This course will cover:
Hi my name is Aimee Bateman, I am the founder and CEO of Careercake.com and in this course, I will be showing you how you can get the most out of your temporary work placement.
You might have secured a summer placement while studying, or found a contract or temp role, either yourself or through an agency.
This is an opportunity for you to go out into a commercial environment, upskill yourself and build relationships.
This is exciting because you have to own your career, like you are the CEO of your own business. You are the CEO of your career. I know that sounds cheesy but it is true. You don’t own your job. You never own your job. Jobs are owned by companies, by organisations. You own your career, and that could be the next 10,20,30 or 40 years.
This role may be for a week, it may be for an entire year. Whatever it is that are you doing, I want to talk to you through the strategies you need to put in place and the activity you need to do in order to either turn this into a permanent job and if this isn’t the permanent job, I want you to use this to help you get a permanent job.
We are going to go through all of this, I am going to show you what to do on that first day, in your first week. What you do in week 3, what you do on your last day and how to ultimately win in this situation.
So let’s get started.

Thank you for another wonderful course Aimee :) I've been out of work for a while now, as I was a Carer for my father for many, many years, so missed out on making a career early on, but this course has so much valuable information for people at all stages of their life. All delivered superbly as always :) Thanks again.
