A great presenter builds relationships with their audience. This course enables you to think beyond the formal presentation and consider the opportunities you have to communicate your story to others about what you do and why you do it.
As Curator of Tedx Clapham, Alex has coached hundreds of public speakers to become better, more confident presenters. We know that good presentations should be structured, with a strong introduction, an engaging main body and a definitive summary. This course goes futher than that.
Alex shows you how to build a relationship with your audience through effective communication, so you deliver a confident, powerful presentation that will take your audience on an emotional jouney.
- Understand the importance of verbal and nonverbal communication when giving presentation.
- The importance of structuring your talk in a way that takes your audience on a journey.
- Coping strategies for stage fright.
- How to make your talk one that your audience will never forget.
My relationship with public speaking has been a very interesting one. Throughout my education I was terrified of it, yet now I am the curator of Tedx Clapham, have coached the CEO of Careercake, Aimee Bateman and the presentations that I have worked on have been seen by millions of people.
When I was at school and university, throughout my education, the thought of having to give a presentation in front of my peers used to terrify me. I got it all, I forgot my words, I would get the shakes, I would stutter, all of the most common symptoms you can think of when you think of stage fright, that was me.
Now things are very, very different. One of the most rewarding things I feel now, is when people come up to me after a talk and say "you have changed my perception on something today and I did not expect that". It is a great feeling. Public speaking is one of those things where you have the ability to make an impact on a room of hundreds of people, in one go. However you have to learn the processes in between to make sure that it happens properly.
Come with me on this course and learn how to produce and deliver a powerful presentation.
